Moving forward part 2

Here's a quick video of Jake crawling down our hallway. You can see that his form and technique are much improved since the last video!

Party Animal

Here's a picture of Jake and his buddy, Noah (Molly and I fill in the background) from Noah's 1st birthday party. Jake sure looks ready for his afternoon nap!

The Whole Tooth and nothing but the tooth...

If you look carefully at the picture on the left - which Jacob gracefully tolerated, you will see the start of his first tooth! (On his upper left side - it may help to double click on the photo and then it will load the full size image). I've also enclosed some recent shots of play time in the kitchen...

Lunchtime, and other mouth related news...

Here are a couple snapshots of Jake feeding himself some tofu for lunch this afternoon. He's getting better and better with the spoon, but does sometimes put it a bit too far back in his mouth--he always looks surprised when this happens!

In other news, Jake finally seems to be getting his first tooth! A bit of white is peeking through in the top left front spot. This may explain why he's been so unusually cranky for the past few afternoons...

As we've been examining his mouth quite a lot lately, I'd like to speculate that Jake is going to be able to flip his tongue over, roll his tongue, and do a clover tongue. While Craig and I can both roll our tongues and I can do a clover, neither of us can flip our tongues. I'm curious who Jake inherited this from??? Any tongue flipping relatives out there?

All Hallow's Eve...

Here's an action shot of Rachel wearing the little green Dinosaur that we found on our steps on Halloween! He enjoyed seeing the different kids trick-or-treating on our doorstep as we had about 100 kids come by! Jacob reached for the candy wrappers even though he doesn't yet know what is inside...

When it rains it pours...

One more milestone to add to the list: Jake can now move from all fours to sitting up! Between this, his recent achievements in the crawling arena, and his experiments with trying to stand, Jake skipped his afternoon nap today in favor of practicing all his new skills in his crib. Jake is very excited about his new developments, and is clearly very proud of himself!

Moving Forward!

While he's still working on his technique, Jacob began moving forward yesterday for the first time. Hopefully this video clip from my phone will work, and you can share in Jake's triumph!
