To celebrate being married for two years, Jacob's mom and dad took him to the famous aquarium and cannery row for the weekend!
He very much enjoyed the special Sea otter exhibit and the extensive jelly fish collection!
We brought him very close to the touch pools where one can see and touch st
ar-fish and sea cucumbers - but decided to leave the touching for a future trip - when he doesn't immediately put his hands in his mouth. We saw many really cool sea life and listened to a live lecture about the "deep sea" which refers to all the life deeper than about 850 feet. (During the lecture, Jacob, much like a college student, caught up on his sleep!) Many strange and wonderful creatures can be found at these depths and very little is known about their life span and behaviors because of the difficulty of routine observation. However the critter at the left was much closer to the surface life!
